The evolving mortgage market: diversification, opportunity and the future of advice – OSB Group

The UK mortgage market is undergoing a period of significant transformation. Against a backdrop of economic uncertainty, changing borrower needs and regulatory evolution, mortgage brokers are increasingly expanding beyond traditional residential lending into more complex sectors including buy-to-let, bridging finance and commercial mortgages.

This presentation will explore the current state of the UK mortgage market, highlighting key trends, challenges and opportunities shaping the intermediary sector. It will examine how brokers are diversifying their propositions to meet changing customer demand and create new revenue streams, whilst navigating an increasingly complex lending landscape.

Looking ahead, the session will consider the future role of the mortgage adviser and the growing influence of technology, data and management information (MI). From enhanced customer journeys and operational efficiency to smarter decision-making and deeper market insights, we’ll explore how technology-enabled businesses are positioning themselves for future success whilst retaining the value of trusted human advice.

Closing the protection gap: turning insight into action – Association of Mortgage Intermediaries

AMI’s Protection Viewpoint research highlights a clear gap between adviser intent and client understanding.

While protection is often discussed, this information is not always retained by clients. Drawing on AMI research alongside insights from the FCA’s Pure Protection Market Study, this session will examine the scale of the protection gap, what it reveals about both adviser and consumer behaviour and explore how protection can be more effectively integrated into the mortgage advice journey.

AMI will outline the practical steps they take to support advisers in addressing this challenge, alongside how they are continuing to support its members as evolving regulation, advancing technology and changing consumer expectations continue to reshape the mortgage landscape.

People, performance and pressure: what do the latest stats tell us? – Mortgage Industry Mental Health Charter

The mortgage industry faces evolving customer expectations, economic uncertainty and increasing performance demands. Yet behind every application, completion and business target are people.

In this engaging session, a representative from Mortgage Industry Mental Health Charter (MIMHC) will unveil the findings of its 2026 Mortgage Industry Wellbeing Survey, providing an insight into the experiences, challenges and aspirations of professionals working across the sector.

Drawing on responses from advisers, lenders, distributors, networks and support teams, the presentation will highlight the latest trends in mental health, wellbeing, resilience, leadership and workplace culture. Delegates will gain an understanding of how the industry’s wellbeing landscape has evolved, where progress has been made and where further action is required.

Importantly, attendees will leave with practical, evidence-based ideas that can be implemented immediately to improve wellbeing, strengthen engagement and support sustainable business performance.

All together better – Coventry for Intermediaries

Coventry’s session will explore how lenders and intermediaries can strengthen collaboration to deliver better outcomes for clients in an evolving mortgage market.

The session revisits the purpose and structure of building societies, highlighting how their ownership model and funding approach differentiate them from banks, and why this matters to brokers and customers. It reinforces the value chain between lenders, intermediaries, and clients, underlining the importance of advice and trust.

They will examine changing customer expectations, the role of technology such as AI and execution-only models, and the ongoing debate around what problems these innovations are solving.  As well as the impact of pricing strategies, including dual pricing, and the balance between efficiency and risk.

Finally, the presentation will explore how intermediaries can stand out in a competitive market, demonstrate value beyond rate, and prepare for future opportunities, particularly in remortgage and product transfer activity.
